As the year draws to a close, we look forward to our next event…another BBBS Night at the Reading Royals! Come join us on Friday, January 20th, to cheer on the Reading Royals as they take on the Norfolk Admirals. Game time is 7 pm.

COUL Little of the Month - December 2022
He’s the December 2022 Little of the Month, and he has an appreciation for busses and railroad crossing bells. Makes sense, because Little Brother Nathaniel says he wants to be a school bus driver when he grows up.

Annual Awards 2022
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County congratulates the winners of our Annual Awards! For the first time since 2019, BBBS of Berks held our Holiday Party — attended by about 100 of our Littles, Bigs, and families. And as part of the festivities, we presented plaques to our annual honorees.

Annual Holiday Party
t’s an exciting time here at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County! Tomorrow evening will be our first full-on in-person Holiday Party since 2019, and preparations have been going on for a while now — including a host of Santa’s Helpers to make sure our Littles and their families enjoy the holidays.

EITC check presented
Big Brothers Big Sisters had a visit this morning from Tompkins Branch Manager (and Board member) Susan Belfer and Assistant Branch Manager Edwin Alvarado today. Our friends from Tompkins were here to present the agency with a $2,500 check through PA’s Education Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program.

COUL Little of the Month - November 2022
She is an honors student who enjoys sports such as basketball, soccer, and baseball. Our COUL Little of the Month is Little Sister Taliyah, a 15-year-old from Bernville who works hard at school and sports. She would benefit greatly from having a positive, out-going Big in her life to stand with her to defend her potential.

Giving THANKS in this Thanksgiving season
As the BBBS staff gets ready to start our extended Thanksgiving weekend, we want to GIVE THANKS to everyone who helps to make our agency successful!

Congratulations, United Way of Berks County!
It was indeed a VICTORY celebration last night, as the United Way of Berks County’s campaign came to a close. With a goal of $10.5-million, the United Way raised more than $11-million. Congratulations to the United Way staff, the LCSs, and everyone involved!

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County, PA (BBBS of Berks) is honored to be an EITC-eligible agency since 2006.

Joined by Executive Assistant Kelly Lewis (left) and Herbein partner (and BBBS of Berks Board member) Liz Hassler, they presented the check as part of Herbein’s 50 for 50 Program.

Blue Marsh Insurance - Charity of the Quarter
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County is the Charity of the Quarter for Blue Marsh Insurance! For every referral Blue Marsh receives through December 2022, Blue Marsh will donate $10 to BBBS of Berks. There is no limit to the amount of people you can refer and the amount they will donate to the agency — plus if you are a Blue Marsh client, you receive fabulous prizes.

2022 United Way Campaign is underway in Berks County!
The United Way of Berks County kicked off its 2022 Campaign this morning at FirstEnergy Stadium — and some familiar faces were up on the podium.

Back to School!
Schools are back in session. With the start of the new school year, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Berks County tries to put supplies into the hands of the kids that need them…specifically, to our Littles. The Back To School event is a highlight of our calendar each year, as we distribute school supplies to our Littles. Thanks to our partners in the community like Mail Shark and the United Way of Berks County, our Littles were here to pick up some notebooks, pens, pencils, folders, and so much more.
