The Golf Invitational is fast approaching!

The 9th Annual Golf Invitational takes place on Friday, August 20th at the Manor Golf CourseThe event is a fun-filled way to help hundreds of youth throughout Berks County.  All funds raised remain here to help us provide our four (4) mentoring programs to at-risk youth throughout the county.

As usual, our Golf Invitational is a scramble format.  Registration between 12 noon and 12:45 pm on August 20th with a "shotgun" start at 1:00 pm.  You can form your foursome now!  Registration is $340 per team or $85 per golfer.

The event includes Arby's MarketFresh sandwiches & refreshments during registration; food & refreshments during the event (at the club house AND/OR you can catch one of the food/refreshment golf carts traveling throughout the course); and a catered dinner (Moyer's Catering) afterwards.  Each golfer receives a THANK YOU gift and is eligible to win numerous door prizes throughout the event.  The top three foursomes are awarded prizes as well.

If you've golfed with us before, you might be asking...what about the Hole-In-One contest(s)?  Well, our appreciation to Bob Fisher Chevrolet for again sponsoring our Hole-In-One Contest.  You have a chance to drive away in a new car and more!  We had our first-ever Hole-In-One winner at last year's event!  No, Greg Stuchel of Lititz didn't drive away in a new car...but he did walk away the winner of a 5-day/4-night stay at a Fairmont Resort.

Not a golfer, but want to help?  Well, you can help by being one of our Corporate Sponsors, while increasing awareness of your company and its commitment to the Berks County community:

Title Sponsor ($2,000) -- Sponsor(s) name is proudly dislayed on Registration/Hole Sponsorship forms; company name/logo displayed on THANK YOU give-away item for the golfers (if received by July 9th); a complimentary foursome for the event; two complimentary Hole Sponsor slots; option to display your company banner at the event; and your company proudly displayed on our website.

Supporting Sponsor ($1,000) -- a complimentary Hole Sponsor sign; two complimentary slots (golfers) on a foursome; option to display your banner the day of the event; and your company proudly named on our website.

Assisting Sponsor ($500) -- a complimentary Hole Sponsor sign; option to display your company's banner the day of the event; and your company proudly named on our website.

Or you can be one of our Hole Sponsors for a $100 donation!  Your company's name will be proudly displayed on a professionally-printed Hole Sponsor sign.

The 8th Annual Golf Invitational was a HUGE success!!

A total of 17 teams took to the links at this year's event on August 21st at Manor Golf Course...and -- for the second consecutive year -- ParenteBeard LLC (formerly Beard Miller Company) served as Title Sponsor.  The law firm of Kent & McBride, Walmart (Wyomissing), and Quadrant Engineering were contributing Corporate Sponsors as well.  In addition, 27 Hole Sponsors helped Big Brothers Big Sisters exceed this year's goal of $13,000!!

Despite a two-hour rain delay shortly after play began, it turned into an exciting event for all.  Besides Greg Stuchel and his amazing Hole-In-One win (see home page), a new team to the event took the honors this year.  Big Brothers Darrell Kohler and his team from West Side Wood Products finished in 1st place with a score of 57 (13 under par)!  Second place went to Team Orr, followed by the Reading Eagle Press team in third.  While West Side Wood Products, a team from Feeney Funeral Home, and the team of DJ Starnes & Company were newcomers to the event -- the 8th Annual Golf Invitational featured a number of returning teams besides Team Orr and Reading Eagle.  They included:  ParenteBeard LLC (formerly Beard Miller Company), Godiva Chocolatiers, Lift Inc. Penn National Gaming, RAM Industrial Services, Giorgio Mushroom, and VIST Financial.

Jay Oglesby & Bob Fisher Chevrolet again sponsored the annual Hole-In-One contest.  While no one won the 2009 Chevy Cobalt that was up for grabs, we did -- as mentioned -- have our first ever Hole-In-One winner!  In addition, golfers had plenty of food and drink through the event...starting with the MarketFresh sandwiches donated by Arby's and ending with a delicious meal from Moyer's Catering.  Our deepest appreciation goes out to all of the above companies who helped make this year's event a success...plus to the numerous businesses who provided the agency with door prizes for our golfers.

And we -- of course -- can't forget those 27 Hole Sponsors without whom we would not have exceeded our goal.  They include:
